Sound II Light – Spatial Sound Event
Patchworks, London.
Immersive audio specialists, Sova Audio, presented Sound II Light: a two-day event dedicated to spatial sound at the Leyton-based creative community space Patchworks on 24-25 March 2023. The event was organised by Sova Labs - the social impact division of Sova Audio, that focuses on creating and delivering educational and cultural activities in sound, with the support of Waltham Forest Council Arts & Culture’s Make It Happen grant.
Sound II Light offered a unique experience featuring live music specially designed for performance on the immersive 12-point Funktion-One sound system, as well as workshops, panel discussions, and a site-specific AV installation, all exploring the possibilities of spatial sound. I collaborated with artist Hannah Brown and sound designer rRoxymore to create the site-specific installation Organic Mechanics.
I also had the privilege of performing two live visual sets alongside Nexcyia and mu tate. To create a fully immersive experience, we used around 10 projectors to map the entire room and project 360-degree visuals to match the spatialised sound.
